Piece 09Mosaic mirror
Anthemion
The ancient bloom. Cobalt floral, square.
Signature Diptych Spread · From Gesture to Object
No. 09 / 10

An ornament three thousand years old, made new. Named for the classical Greek anthemion, the floral-and-leaf motif carved into temple friezes and painted onto pottery for millennia.
Raised cobalt ceramic blooms and hand-shaped leaves sit among fractured mirror and glass, framed in a dense, architectural square. The most ornate piece in the collection.
